Over the past two years, through our releases and shows, we’ve tried our utmost to showcase forward-thinking talent from across the country and add narratives from different communities to the Indian music scene. The support you’ve shown our work – from Prabh Deep’s Class-Sikh, Seedhe Maut’s Bayaan to Swadesi and Prakash Bhoir’sThe Warli Revolt – has been instrumental in the success we’ve achieved so far.
For our second anniversary, we’re taking the entire label on tour and bringing along some new faces that have joined the Azadi family. Prabh Deep, Seedhe Maut, Swadesi, Tienas, Siri and others will be joined by Srinagar’s Ahmer Javed, Surat-based hip-hop mainstay DJ Uri and the backbone of the Indian hip-hop scene, Sez On The Beat.
In addition, we’re super excited to be hosting Rodney P and Skitz – the pioneering MC and producer duo from the United Kingdom who played a pivotal role in the development of the British hip-hop community.
We’ve also released a limited edition t-shirt for the tour, featuring a design by Karthik Nambiar. It is available for purchase online at at Azadi Records store as part of a web-exclusive ticket bundle. A very limited supply of the tees will be available at the venue as well.

Azadi Records is a Delhi-based independent record label. Established in 2017, the label seeks to provide a platform for South Asian artists to release forward-thinking, politically conscious music that critically engages with (and comments on) the pressing issues of our time. Our aim is not be underground, but to highlight pertinent stories that are often ignored by the mainstream. We are the label of the culturally conscious. The creators of stories. Explorers of new sounds, new visuals and new mediums that initiate dialogue between different communities around the world.
Rodney P is widely acknowledged as the Godfather of UK Rap. Inspiring a whole generation of British emcees and producers by being the first to rap in his authentic London accent and produce a home-grown Hip Hop reggae vibe that is distinctly rooted in the UK. Following the international success of London Posse, Rodney P has enjoyed one of the most esteemed and perpetual careers in UK hip hop to date. Recognised as Britain’s most eligible candidate for Hip-Hop ambassador; indeed for many his name is synonymous with UK Hip-Hop.
Skitz gained recognition as a homegrown Hip Hop producer fusing the rawness of UK emcees with solid production and distinctively Jamaican influenced bass-lines. His first album Countryman won Hip Hop album of the year and catapulted rappers such as Est’elle, Roots Manuva and Skinnyman into the limelight.
Joining forces they championed the UK bass heavy rap scene, produced the first ever track played on BBC1Xtra and through their own flagship rap show Original Fever spread the message worldwide. Both with deep discographies they have performed from Africa to Australia and everywhere in-between. Supporting the likes of Jay-Z and Kanye West, performing on huge stages and renowned for smashing parties, clubs and festivals with their reggae tinged bass driven sets.
Never ones to follow fashion or bow to musical fads, genre boundaries are broken, templates and formula are pushed to the side. Rodney and Skitz carve out their own distinct pathway both as independent artists and as a team. One where quality music and passion shine through.
